Vision Statement

Introduction
"Craze" is a puzzle-horror maze game for the PC and potentially different platforms, designed using unity. Your character is lost in a maze with limited battery life in their torch and must travel through the maze, obtaining different keys and batteries to open doors and get out of the maze before you get your lights go

Description
Your friends asked you to join them on an adventure in the sewers under the school grounds. You've taken the wrong turn but you hear your friends footsteps in the distance. You hear your name being shouted and then .. nothing.. You're left in the darkness with your head torch and the sound of dripping water. The footsteps echo throughout the sewer, only this time they sound louder and closer..

Key Features
  • Timed Gameplay
  • Battery Collection
  • Horror themed background noise
  • Exploration
  • Randomly Generated Maze
Genre
The game is a first person Survival Horror Game. The game focuses on survival of the character as the game tries to frighten players with either horror graphics or scary ambience.

Gameplay
Gamplay will be fast-paced as the player will have a stamina bar which will let them run faster and move swiftly through the maze. A timer will be added for every battery picked up in the maze. You restart in a different part of the maze but your stamina bar will be significantly lower, indicating that you've been caught and you've escaped with some damage to your body. This is in place to motivate players to complete the game regardless of getting caught. Once you've been caught 3 times your stamina will be completely depleted making the game incredibly difficult to complete, not impossible.

Target Market
The game is targeted towards players who enjoy the Horror Genre and want to be put on edge throughout the entire game. The game is only for players 16+ due to the fear factor put in place.

  1. Hi James!
I like this game idea, it sounds really cool. I think the limited torch battery is a great element. Does the game end if your torch battery runs out? What is it that is catching you and damaging your player, is it your mates or some sort of monster? When you escape the maze and complete the level, is the next level harder or will you generate again in the same maze with the same level of difficulty? One suggestion I have that might be cool is to time how long it takes you to escape each maze and give points so the player wants to beat their score each time they play. Overall though cool game concept.

  2. Hi James, this looks like a really interesting game. I like the horror aspects of it. It has me thinking though, what are the controls? Also does the game have an antagonist? My suggestion is that you could add a voice, not necessarily a physical person, to the game that would haunt the main character. It would add some more tension to the game and would certainly make it more interesting than just walking in a maze. It'll add more depth to the game overall. To summarize it, it's an awesome idea, you just need more detail.
