Craze Logo designed by Myself

After spending well over more than 2 hours on my GDD I have found that I didn't really have any solid idea on what my game was going to be until I created the GDD.
Using Dundoc it really helped me answer a lot of questions that I wouldn't have ended up asking myself and helped me re-evaluate some ideas such as the Level Flowchart and actual character customisation.

The hardest question I found that was to answer was the System requirements. I haven't developed the game yet but I wanted the game to be as universal as possible. This meant I had to come up with the specifications that would best suit people that don't have gaming computers/laptops. I used some research on steam Maze games to find out what was the average minimum requirements for their game and used this to base my game around. I then used my own specifications from my laptop to find out the recommended requirements to play this game.

Other than that I found everything really easy to get through, it just took a lot of time and effort to come up with expanding my idea and adding different elements such as a Flow chart and a Logo.

I haven't fully completed my dundoc because I want to give myself some time to go back to it, re-examine my work and add to parts as-well as editing certain subjects. This way I'll be able to constantly revise over my Dundoc and add when I feel is necessary.

  1. Hi james, love your game idea it sounds like you'd get a lot of adrenaline playing it i love games where your put on edge and clueless as to what could happen next. The sewers being where the game is based adds to the creepiness and it sounds like its really well thought through with all of the sound effects for the water and footsteps. The story behind the game also really helps set the feel of the game do you think you'll have a screen or text at the start explaining the story before people play so that they know the player has lost their friends? The resources for the game also sound really interesting that the player loses limbs, will they be able to still play after they've lost a limb or will that be the game over? Really enjoyed reading your GDD, your games really good and unique can't wait to see how it turns out best of luck!

  2. Hey James,
I really enjoyed reading through your Game Design Document for your game idea project. I found your GDD to be really detailed and interesting. I have to say that I love your game idea because it sounds like it will be intense and it will put you on edge which is a nice touch. I feel like you have thought really well about incorporating an atmosphere in the game. This will make the game more atmospheric as well as enjoyable for the player. What type of songs will you play during your game? What will the backing track be like? I can't wait to see further development for your game. I will look forward to seeing how you will implement all these features that you mentioned in your game. Anyways I really liked your Game Design Document. Best of luck with the development of your game and the end result too!

  3. Hey james, Love the game idea. Its great to see that the GDD really helped you to figure out the content of the game as its very important and an integral part of the game. I really like the fact that you want the game to be playable on most laptops and pc's as most of the market of games are for high end models which not everyone can afford. Its also good that you have done some research already on other games as you can use that as a niche if you were to take the game further. Hope that you got the dundoc finished and that it has made you realised more about your game.
