Workshop 01
Topic
Today in class we learnt about flowcharts and how to use them correctly. We were given a question about the inter-section in a road and asked how would the lights work with no buttons and to explain it in simple English. This was very new to me because when I first saw it I immediately thought of a pressure-plate system placed underneath the area's on the road. When I tried to explain this to my lecturer he reiterated that it HAD to be simple. This was something new that I learned today in class. I had to work with a group of 4 to determine how the traffic lights would work. Although I had no clue what the answer was we came up with the correct solution after 10-15 minutes of brainstorming.
Delivery
I did not really enjoy the delivery method. Although I understand the use of flowcharts and how the system worked. I feel as though the main reason I took such a disliking to the method was because it wasn't something I understood quickly and I was impatient about the learning method but over-all I feel like it is something good because at the end of the day I left learning something new and how to be a bit more patient with frustrating questions.
Reflection
I feel actually really happy to write about my experiences. It allows me to really brainstorm and think about the class and reminds me of the project. Had I not been writing all of this down, the project itself would have been lost in my memory and I would have had to see the workshop again in order to remember it.
Blogging is actually a lot more fun than I initially thought it would be and I also gain the chance to improve my vocabulary along the way!
